FAQs

At Purr and Pooch Prints we only use the highest quality products to create your jewellery.

We only use Fine Silver, which is silver in it's purest form and is therefore nickel free. Unlike some Sterling Silver or lower grade silver alloys you will have no reaction to any of our products even with prolonged wearing.

Taking the Impression

Where is the impression taken?

We provide you with an easy to use kit which contains full instructions. You simply need to take the print wherever your pet feel most relaxed.

How long does it take?

Taking the impression is entirely dependant on how wriggly your four legged friend is. It is a very quick process and should take less than a minute.  Once you have returned the print to us we aim to have your finished silver jewellery sent out to you within 10 working days.

How do I get the best impression?

The best impressions are taken from well groomed, relaxed pets. It is best if you can minimise the fur on the paw as this can cause the print to smudge when making the impression. Trimmed nails will also make the impression as accurate as can be.

Will the impressions kit harm my pet?

Our impressions kit includes a tried and tested, high quality and non-toxic ink. The ink is a pale lemon colour which will wear off quickly and not harm you pet in any way.

How do I know it is my pet?

Every impression has a unique reference number. It is this number that allows us to guarantee your pet's print is truely your pet's.

What happens if I want additional pieces at a later stage?

We keep the master print of your impression on our system for a minimum of 2 years from the date of your order. This means that once you have returned an impression to us, you simply need to provide your unique pet's reference number with any future orders. This number will also be linked to your contact information so it can easily be found at a later date.

What pets and animals can you take impressions of?

There aren't many limitations on pet prints as long as the impresion will fit on to an A4 sheet of paper. We recommend you consider what the impression may look like once taken and processed into a silver piece though. There is no reason why impressions of rabbits, birds, horses, guinea pigs, farmyard animals or even your loveable llama can't be taken!

After Care

All our jewellery comes in a Purr and Pooch Prints signature jewellery box. This box contains special acid free padding which helps reduce your jewellery from tarnishing if stored in the box when not worn. Additionally, you will find full after care instructions on how to keep your silver jewllery looking its best inside the jewellery box.

When polishing your silver we advise you use a soft cloth and professional silver polish to shine up your pieces. Both of which can be purchased form any good jewellers'.
